STONE MANOR
Combining various materials common to Bucks County and incorporating updated architectural elements, this three-story office building fits nicely within its suburban hillside site. Neither modern nor traditional, this design transcends both--resting on a rusticated base and incorporating a ribbon glass-and-brick center shaft with eyebrow sunshades at the roofline. Various parapet heights give the long entrance façade a higher level of importance. Introducing patterned Flemish-bond brickwork gave the infilled spandrel areas richness in material and texture. A three-story thru-lobby is bathed in natural light originating from three separate sources that wash the walls, creating fabulous shadows and textures.
