Combining office, retail, restaurants, and apartments on a former brownfields site, this riverfront development encourages live, work and play. Connecting street life to the riverfront and creating a community plaza for ice-skating, Christmas-tree lighting, and boating helped generate our design for land use. Long vistas and an alley of trees lead first to the plaza and then the river, offering choices of dining, retail and offices along the way. The designs for Buildings I and II recall the foundry-like forms that graced the site in years past, when steel tanks, trucks and railroad cars were produced and riverboat shipping was big.
